Stuck in Magadan today but hoping to head further South very soon.

I flew 6 hours yesterday. It was mostly over ice and snow the whole way. I was pretty lucky as it was ‘only’ -20C in the air, whereas it was -35C on the ground. The Shark had never flown in temperatures this cold before so a mechanic in Nome blocked...

Zara has arrived in #Magadan, #Russia after a 6H25 flight over the Siberian Arctic tundra, coming from #Anadyr!!! What a relief for Zara and the whole team: if she were to land in these extreme temperatures, she could not have taken her plane off again. ✈🌨🥶😱❄️

Finally made it to Russia! Just in time before the days start getting too short. It’s pretty cold out here right now at -24C, luckily I’ve got @vikinglifesavingequipment to keep me warm. So happy to be over the Pacific and onto the second half of the world.
