FlyZolo Team Update: Throwback
This was the Euronews report upon Zara's arrival in Wevelgem, #Belgium, after 5 months of circumnavigating the earth 🌎 and becoming the youngest woman to fly solo around the world ✈️🦈.
Hear Zara telling about her #mission: growing up she felt disheartened to have virtually no role models and see so few girls👱♀️ around her interested in what she was passionate about: #STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics)🔬 🚀. She wanted to show girls that it's ok to go for what is perceived as unusual, unconventional, to think outside the box,... and follow your own #dreams.
Only 5% of commercial #pilots and 15% of computer scientists are #women. In both areas – aviation and STEM – the #gendergap is huge. With her flight she wanted to show young women that they can be bold, ambitious and make their dreams come true 🤩💪.
Do you know of other unusual fields in which girls would need to be encouraged to stand up as female role models?
