Flyzolo Team Update - Day 116
After 41 days in #Russia, Zara has landed in #Seoul - Gimpo airport at O550Z. We repeat, Zara has landed in Seoul, Gimpo International Airport - 金浦国际机场 - 김포공항, #SouthKorea, arriving with her tiny Shark ✈️🦈 by one of busiest air routes in the world. 😅 No wonder the ATC controller had to hold other aircraft back to allow for her slow arrival compared to the big boys in the air 😂😁. We are having flash-backs to her departure in JFK-Airport, #NewYork.
She is safe and well after a very long, over 6 hour, flight over the Japanese Sea. #Sayonara! The leg would have been much shorter as the crow flies, but she had to avoid the North Korean FIR.
An FIR, is a Flight Information Region: it's s a virtual division of airspace agreed upon by international agreement through the Civil Aviation Organisation. It serves, again, a safety purpose: in each FIR a flight information service and an alerting service are provided by a country, either over their territorial space, or, when it lies over the ocean, to a country bordering that region.
Going from the many comments and great flight path images of this interesting leg, many of you have followed Zara, whether it was day or night for you! 😅🌙🌞
Thank you to all the people wishing her well around the world 🙏🌎 !
