FlyZolo Team Update - Day 42
Zara has finally arrived in #Anchorage, #Alaska! Wohooooooooo! βπ
ππͺβ
π There also seems to be a relatively good window for #Nome and over the #BeringStraits soon!!! Fingers and toes crossed everyone!!!!
As Zara says in this article from the Anchorage Daily News: βRight now, Iβm just focusing on the flying,β she said. βItβs one leg at a time. I never look at the bigger picture just because it kinda freaks me out.β
Rutherford, who turned 19 in July and is from Belgium, was grounded in Juneau last week due to weather and mechanical issues with her plane.
She departed Juneau on Wednesday and landed in #Yakutat for a quick break after turbulence triggered her planeβs g-force warnings. After a break and a chocolate cookie she was back in the air.
βThat second half was amazing,β Rutherford said. βIt was really beautiful. It was also kind of my first (solo) flying ... in terrain, dodging mountains.β
ps: Check out the article: It's getting busy in that tiny plane...After #Nijntje (#Misty in English) and #Marimonda, we now have #MooseTheAviator ππ
