The day Zara left Mexico to enter the USA on her route back north, she was invited as a Q&A guest speaker to the very first in-person chapter meeting of "Women in Aviation International” (WAI) New Mexico, which was sponsored by Virgin Galactic

WAI helps women and men finding employment and building careers in ✈️ and 🚀 industries and aim to promote public understanding of notable American women in the aviation.

Its members include astronauts, pilots, flight attendants, maintenance technicians, air traffic controllers, educators, students, air show performers, airport managers, business owners, and many others.

The local chapters work to help break cultural stereotypes about gender and aviation careers and in 2015, WAI launched a "Girls in Aviation Day" observed on the last Saturday of the month of September.
