Shaesta is an #american #aviator, born in #Afghanistan in 1987, the year her family traveled to the #USA to flee the Soviet-Afghan war. She is the first Afghan-born, #female, certified civilian pilot and held the Guinnes World Record till Zara completed her circumnavigation last week 🌎 🦈 ✈️. In doing so Zara, at the age of 19, reduced the gender gap with the current male record holder, Travis Ludlow - who achieved his own record at 18 years and 150 days - by more than a decade.
From the start Shaesta encouraged, supported and mentored Zara who wanted to attempt to break her record. "Records are meant to be broken Zara".

As women, we should champion💪 for one another at every opportunity, inspire and lift each other up when we need it most. By doing so, we can create incredible changes in our community.
And that is exactly, not only what Shaesta has done and is still doing through her charity Dreams Soar, Inc. and Aviate with Shaesta, but also what Holly Branson and Virgin, The Ninety-Nines, Inc, International Organization of Women Pilots, The Grande Dames of Aviation or Women in Aviation International have done for Zara and are doing on a daily basis for other women.
