FlyZolo Team Update - Day 32
As some of you had noticed from the live tracker, things did again (but that is why it is a true challenge of course 🥴 😜) not go according to plan. First, a technical issue with the plane: some checks and a test flight were needed.
Then, weather wasn't being very cooperative to cross these daunting #RockyMountains, so Zara decided to head for #Portland, instead of #Kalispell, #Montana. A real shame, as Zara's very first sponsor to come on board, Sókn Engineering - a woman-owned S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) company that has developed highly complex mathematical algorithms for the #FinTechIndustry - where expecting Zara with a welcoming event. As Zara couldn't be there live, luckily a last-minute zoom-appearance could be organised instead. Thank you Sókn for all your support and enthusiasm!
Last but not least, as you can see from Zara's "Story Posts" below - don't forget to check them out for latest updates! - she had to land back in #Redding, where she is still now because of visibility issues due to wildfires...
As we learned from Travis Ludlow, the current #Guinness World Record holder of the youngest pilot to have circumnavigated the globe - the #Rockies can be tricky, so Zara, notwithstanding the event awaiting her, took definitely the right piloting decisions:
