And more changes of plans, as that is the nature of the beast... Zara has reached Quibdo, Colombia and will be making her way back today, probably via Cartagena, depending on weather, then #Panama tomorrow.

With this, Zara reaches a huge milestone in her record-breaking attempt. This is the first antipodal point in her quest to be the youngest woman in history to fly solo around the world in a small aircraft.

The Guinness World Record guidelines require people circumnavigating the globe to pass through two approximate antipodal points, i.e. two locations on opposite geographical sides of the Earth. The goal of the adventure therefore is to fly from one point on the globe to another, imagining that you pierce the earth from one point to another as you would pierce an orange through its center. Zara had originally chosen to pass through Tumaco, Colombia and Jambi, Indonesia. It will now be Quibdo and a new antipodal point in Indonesia, Jakarta, where she plans to arrive mid-October.

So far she has already crossed the Atlantic, stopped in Iceland and Greenland, flown through Canada, the East Coast of the USA and south through the Caribbean to Colombia. Next she will head north via Alaska to Russia, China, Indonesia, India and via the Middle East back to Belgium, where she hopes to arrive early November.
