Team BushCat

After the major drama in the US, Team BushCat has been experiencing a different sort of drama. Yesterday while the BushCats were sitting on the ground at Megara, awaiting today's good weather, a major thunderstorm with 50mph winds struck. The BushCats were tied down but in opposite directions. The one facing downwind was in effect flying backwards at 50mph - not something it was designed for, and it suffered a bent flap pushrod. Disaster? Well almost, our great support team in Johannesburg swung into action. Richard the Senior Engineer volunteered to get on a night flight to Athens with a replacement.

And then? A major thunderstorm struck Johannesburg, causing flash floods! For a while it looked like Richard would not make it out, but he did. So we are awaiting his arrival today.

And with luck we will make repairs and head out tomorrow to Crete and on to Egypt on Saturday.
